Last week we were at St Mary’s Primary School in Stoke on Trent. We spent two days delivering debating workshops for all of the students in years five and six, and then all of the staff came together for a twilight CPD session focussing on the ways in which they can embed oracy and debating into their own lessons.
It is always a pleasure to work with new schools and St Mary’s are now planning on setting up their own debating club, and hopefully also arranging debates and training days with other local schools.
