If we really want to make a difference to students’ speaking and listening skills, we have to see oracy and debate as cross-curricular concerns and not just something for English and Drama teachers. That’s why we were so delighted to take on the commission from the PiXL Club to develop 160 Debate Stimulus Sheets covering an impressive 29 curriculum subjects and key stages three, four and five. Each sheet includes facts, examples, vocabulary and questions to stimulate classroom discussion and debate. PiXL schools can access all of these sheets and the supporting materials on the PiXL website or the Up For Debate website.
