Role plays are very flexible. They can be done in pairs or groups or in front of the class. Pupils are given roles and a situation to act out. It could be bully and bullied in a PSHE class, geneticist and church leader in a science or RE class or any fictional characters in English. Role plays are particularly useful for developing empathy, seeing different perspectives and understanding character in depth.
