It’s the Spring Term and that means it’s Cicero Cup time! Our junior school debating programme has doubled in size this year and we are particularly pleased that we have increased its geographical spread outside of London. With schools in Liverpool and Loughborough, Glastonbury and Gloucestershire, Northampton and North London – we can truly say we are a national competition.
This year’s teams are debating the prepared motions “we should all choose to be vegetarian” and “footballers are paid too much money” alongside an impromptu topic announced at their heat. Schools who enter are provided with teacher training and resources to help them prepare for the competition. Many schools also choose an optional pupil workshop to get them started.
