The Noisy Classroom join with the PiXL Club to launch Up for Debate programme

The PiXL Club is addressing oracy in schools and they starting by focusing on debating. This year the Noisy Classroom will work closely with them to pilot a new national schools debate programme, Up For Debate. The programme will involve training teachers, providing resources for using debate in the classroom and setting up debate clubs, a scheme of work for introducing debate and its skills in English and a national competition. The competition will consist of regional heats held in London, Exeter, Nottingham and Sunderland and a national finals day at Eton College. We are busy working with Harold Raitt at See Hear Teach to create the competition handbook and scheme of work and we are excited to meet the first teachers at the upcoming training sessions. If you are interested in being involved please visit the PiXL Club website or email debbie@noisyclassroom.com for more information.
